Rhythms: Trance rhythms in a 3-beat time cycle
Tunings: The main instruments are tuned to the healing frequency of 432Hz. Today’s music is mostly composed and performed using 440Hz. However the lower pitch of 432Hz, known as the ‘Verdi Pitch’, has proven health benefits.
Scale & Mode: Getting technical for a moment, Grounding has a quarter tone on the 3rd (Mi) note of the scale which makes it resonate at 528Hz ~ the Heart or ‘Miracle Frequency’.
‘Mi’ derives from the Latin phrase ‘Mira gestorum’ (miracle). Nerve cell researchers found that 528Hz waves in music boost immunity by enhancing antioxidant activity. Genetic biochemists use it to repair broken DNA, the genetic blueprint
upon which life is based. This magical frequency was used by ancient civilizations to manifest miracles and bring blessings and healing.
Track Length: The track is intentionally over 5 minutes long, allowing for ‘Brain Entrainment’ to occur. Simply put, this is the method of using pulses to elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat. It can induce many states, such as trances, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep.

Hello, I'm Marla… a Grammy-nominated musician and one of the few female frame drum specialists in the world today.
Having studied music since I was three years old, music is my first love and greatest passion! I hold a BFA & MFA in Percussion and have been fortunate to study with some of the most world-renowned, inspiring teachers and leading masters in frame drum, Indian and West African drumming.
Delighted to pass on what I’ve learned, I’ve now been teaching for over 25 years. I have seen, first-hand, the amazing power of music to help heal and bring joy. Over 15 years ago, I first started helping students online, when that kind of learning was a strange new world.
The Frame Drum Academy online is my dream child. Born in 2015, we currently have hundreds of happy students and are growing by the day!
